El río Snake es un largo río del noroeste de los Estados Unidos, el principal afluente del río Columbia. Tiene aproximadamente 1670 km de longitud, que lo sitúan entre los 15 ríos más largos de los Estados Unidos y los 100 más largos del mundo. Drena parte de la vertiente occidental de las Montañas Rocosas, una cuenca de 280 000 km² y tiene un caudal medio de 287,3 m³/s.
Históricamente, el río Snake fue muy importante en la expansión hacia el Oeste de Estados Unidos ya que por su valle discurría la principal de las rutas, la ruta de Oregón . Actualmente, el curso bajo del río es navegable hasta Lewiston .
