Le Bielerhöhe relie le Montafon du Vorarlberg au Paznaun du Tyrol. Le col se situe à 2037 m d'altitude, directement au nord du lac de retenue de Silvretta, entièrement sur le territoire du Vorarlberg. Le Bielerhöhe est le point le plus élevé accessible de la route alpine de Silvretta, une route à péage qui, en raison de sa situation exposée, est fermée à la circulation normale en hiver. Cependant, on peut atteindre le col depuis Partenen via le Vermuntbahn et un tunnel de l’illwerke vkw AG, ainsi que le dernier tronçon de la route habituelle du col par le biais d’un service de taxi.
