Ce bâtiment fut un relais de diligences et l’un des meilleurs hôtels d’Arlon. Eugène Ysaye, le célèbre violoniste, y célébra son mariage avec Louise Bourdau en 1886.
L’Hôtel du Nord a été édifié sur un bastion et une portion du rempart de la troisième enceinte de la Ville reconstruite par les Français à la fin du XVIIe siècle.
