Ce bâtiment a été fondé en 1900 par l'association philanthropique bruxelloise 'Les Marçunvins', dont il tire son nom original. Cette association a été créée en 1875 et a offert un soutien financier aux jeunes étudiants. Plus tard, ils ont également organisé des colonies de vacances pour les enfants défavorisés. L'emplacement à Westende était donc idéal en raison de l'air marin salubre.
Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, ce bâtiment a été réduit en cendres. Cependant, il a été reconstruit en 1930 et ensuite également agrandi.
C'est un bel exemple d'architecture moderniste : le bâtiment ne compte que deux étages, a un toit plat et est entièrement peint en blanc. Des angles arrondis et aigus alternent de manière ludique.
