Voulez-vous savoir comment un anticlérical construit une église ? L'église Sint-Ritakerk est un modèle de modernisme où la forme prévaut sur tout. C'est la seule église de Léon Stijnen, architecte de renom en Flandre pour le modernisme. Vu de l'extérieur, l'église a la forme d'une pyramide tronquée sans fenêtres. Le plan de sol est un hexagone irrégulier. Alors que l'église semble plutôt massive de l'extérieur, on se sent désorienté en entrant car aucun point d'accroche n'est à trouver.
