La Grande Synagogue de Bruxelles, siège du Consistoire central israélite de Belgique , constitue le centre névralgique du judaïsme belge. Ce dernier, consacré par le décret du 17 mars 1808, acquit le statut de religion officiellement reconnue via l’arrêté royal du 21 mai 1832.Au cours des XIXe et XXe siècles , Bruxelles s’est transformée en une véritable métropole multiculturelle. Ce caractère se traduit entre autres dans le patrimoine religieux de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale. La Grande Synagogue de Bruxelles s’inscrit dans ce contexte.
