La bataille de Fontenoy est un affrontement de la guerre de Succession d'Autriche qui se déroula le 11 mai 1745 près de Fontenoy dans les Pays-Bas autrichiens et se solda par une victoire française. Elle est une conséquence du siège de la ville de Tournai et opposa les troupes du roi Louis XV à une armée coalisée, formée des Provinces-Unies, de la Grande-Bretagne, du Hanovre et de l'Autriche, commandée par William Augustus, duc de Cumberland .
