Ce lieu respire l'histoire. L'église Saint-Lambert, située au cœur du district, est l'un des plus anciens monuments d'Ekeren. Il est probable qu'une église ait été construite ici dès le dixième siècle. Le chœur de l'église actuelle date du quinzième siècle et la tour ouest a même été construite avant 1504. Il est probable que l'église soit nommée d'après l'évêque Lambert, qui prêchait la foi dans cette région au septième siècle. Du côté nord du bâtiment, au niveau du chœur, se trouve la crypte de la famille d'imprimeurs Plantin-Moretus, connue pour le musée éponyme à Anvers.
