La porte bleue est la seule des sept portes d'entrée restantes autour du parc du château d'Ooidonk. Elle est aussi appelée "Porta arboreti" .
La porte date d' environ 1595 mais la structure actuelle daterait d' environ 1864 . L'étage mansardé du portail d'entrée servait autrefois de pigeonnier.
Garder des pigeons était un privilège. Les pigeons mangeaient le grain, leur nombre était donc limité. Seul le citoyen aisé avait le droit de garder des pigeons. Les pigeonniers d'antan sont de véritables constructions.
