Le bétail Galloway ressemble au bison ... d'où le titre ...

Stationnement aisé à l'entrée du parc naturel au niveau du pont sur la E403.

cette route traverse Doeveren et Merkemveld. Malgré la superficie limitée de cet espace naturel (44ha), il s'agit tout de même d'une belle balade où le même point est visité depuis des directions différentes . Initialement principalement boisé , dans la dernière partie il y a plus de pâturages marécageux ouverts où paissent les bovins Galloway. Occasion suffisante pour se détendre sur un canapé.

La promenade balisée "Doeveren" est plus courte (5,7 km) mais permet d'explorer la même région d'une manière plus courte.
