Gilly est une commune suisse du canton de Vaud, située dans le district de Nyon, elle fait partie de La Côte.
La première mention de Gilly remonte à 1179 dans le cadre d'une donation de terres faite à l'abbaye de Bonmont. Avec ses 756 ha, Gilly était la plus grande commune de l'ancien district de Rolle, quatre fois plus vaste que Tartegnin ou Vinzel, ses voisines. La commune comprend aussi le hameau de Vincy, au débouché du vallon des Vaux. À l'ouest, le site de Saint-Vincent comprenait très anciennement une église à l'origine de ce toponyme.
