L’aire d’autoroute de la vallée du Rhin est située sur l’A13, à côté du barrage du Rhin alpin, sur le territoire de la commune politique de Sevelen, dans le canton de Saint-Gall, et en face de la capitale de la Principauté du Liechtenstein, Vaduz.
L’aire d’autoroute est la seule en Suisse limitrophe de la Principauté du Liechtenstein et elle est située au point le plus bas de la commune de Sevelen, à 451 m d’altitude. Peu après l’aire de desserte de la vallée du Rhin en amont, l’A13 rejoint l’autoroute A3 et continue jusqu’à Coire ou Zurich ou en aval jusqu’à Buchs et St. Margrethen.
