La Nouvelle Harth est une zone forestière mixte reboisée sur un ancien site de debris minier au sud de Markkleeberg, dans la région des nouveaux lacs de Leipzig.
La Nouvelle Harth se situe dans les communes des villes de Leipzig, Markkleeberg, Zwenkau et Böhlen. Elle est délimitée au nord par la ville de Markkleeberg, à l'est par Großstädteln et Gaschwitz ainsi que Großdeuben, au sud approximativement par la Route fédérale 2 et à l'ouest par le lac de Zwenkau et le lac de Cospuden. La zone est traversée dans le sens est-ouest par l'autoroute A 38.
