Le parc de loisirs Nienhausen est l'un des plus anciens espaces verts de la région de la Ruhr. La zone de parc d'environ 30 hectares avec différentes installations de loisirs et le « parc de la santé » est située à l'ouest du centre-ville de Gelsenkirchen, dans le quartier de Feldmark, à la frontière de la ville avec Essen-Katernberg. Selon le plan régional de la Ruhr, ce site, ouvert en 1972, fait partie des zones de paysage culturel régionales significatives.
