La réserve naturelle d’Üntrop, d’une superficie de 10,9 ha, est située au sud-est de Lenne, dans la zone urbaine de Schmallenberg. La zone a été désignée réserve naturelle en 2008 par le district de Hochsauerland avec le plan d’aménagement paysager sud-est de Schmallenberg.
La NSG est la zone de la haute vallée de l’Uentrop, riche en structure, avec les affluents Erfmicke et Jaismecke. L’Uentrop est un ruisseau de basse montagne presque naturel et un affluent gauche de la Lenne. Dans la partie sud du NSG, il forme des méandres partiellement prononcés. La zone de la vallée est utilisée comme prairie. Dans les zones périphériques, certaines zones forestières sont incluses dans le NSG. Des espèces animales et végétales rares se trouvent dans la région.
