Jüttendorf, Thamm et Neusorge sont d’anciennes banlieues de Senftenberg, qui ont été incorporées à Senftenberg au début des années 1920. Les villages sont situés en Basse-Lusace, dans le sud de l’actuel État de Brandebourg.
Le nom de Jüttendorf vient du mot Kuten ou Keuten. C’était un autre mot pour désigner les trous humides. Celle-ci s’est développée en Kutendorf, qui est devenu plus tard Jüttendorf. Cela décrit les conditions naturelles, car l’endroit a été aménagé dans un terrain marécageux avec des trous humides.
