Le Katschhof est une belle place située au cœur d'Aix-la-Chapelle. Son nom dérive de Kaxhoff, plus tard Kackshoff ou Katzhoff, et est lié à l'emplacement de l'ancien pilori (« Katz »). Des gens du monde entier se retrouvaient ici pour faire du commerce. Son emplacement unique entre la cathédrale et l'hôtel de ville d'Aix-la-Chapelle lui confère une atmosphère particulière. De grands événements tels que des concerts, des marchés hebdomadaires et le célèbre marché de Noël d'Aix-la-Chapelle y ont lieu.
