Le jardin de Schwabe est le jardin préservé de l’ancien domaine de la famille juive Schwabe à Varel.
Depuis le premier quart du 19e siècle, la famille vivait dans une maison d’angle dans la ville de Basse-Saxe, où elle dirigeait un commerce de gros de textiles et un grand magasin. La dernière génération de la famille Schwabe-Barlewin vivant à Varel, Curt avec sa femme Frieda, née Roseno, et leurs deux fils Arthur David et Paul Jakob, a fui aux États-Unis en septembre/octobre 1938, quelques jours avant le pogrom de la Nuit de Cristal.
