L’ancien hôtel de ville est situé au centre du quartier central de Stetten, non loin de l’église Saint-Guy et de la place Saint-Pierre.
La construction de l’édifice a été datée de 1520 par un rapport dendrochronologique. Il a été construit dans le style alémanique à colombages. De nombreux artefacts de la période allant de 1550 à 1900 ont été découverts dans le bâtiment. En 1698 et 1707, il est mentionné comme l’hôtel de ville. Avant le 19ème siècle, le rez-de-chaussée était ouvert et utilisé pour les étals des commerçants. Le sol a ensuite été muré. Celui-ci a ensuite été utilisé pour les pompiers locaux et pour les balances publiques. En 1923, le bâtiment a été entièrement enduit, y compris les colombages. De 1993 à 1995, une rénovation s’ensuit. Dans le même temps, les colombages ont été découverts à nouveau en 1995.
