La plus ancienne racine de la banque se trouve à Isny. Le 1er juillet 1862, 20 citoyens fondent la Spar- und Vorschussbank Isny. C’était la pierre angulaire de la future Isnyer Volksbank eG.
L’actuelle Volksbank Allgäu-Oberschwaben eG a été créée à la suite de nombreuses fusions et fusions. En mai 2017, l’assemblée des représentants des institutions prédécesseurs Leutkircher Bank – Raiffeisen- und Volksbank – eG et Volksbank Allgäu-West eG a approuvé la fusion pour former Volksbank Allgäu-Oberschwaben eG.
