Le château de Großkrotzenburg était un fort romain situé sur la ligne Wetterau du limes germano-rhétique supérieur à Großkrotzenburg am Main, dans le district de Main-Kinzig en Hesse.
Aujourd’hui, le fort est entièrement reconstruit dans le vieux centre de Großkrotzenburg sur une rive protégée des inondations, sur une terrasse de gravier au nord du Main, qui coule ici du sud en une légère courbe vers l’ouest. Dans le cours du Limes vers le nord, il y a principalement des zones marécageuses telles que le Großauheimer Torfbruch avec le Schiffslache et plus au nord le Bulau, de sorte que le fort a probablement été construit principalement pour surveiller le passage de la rivière.
