L'ascension du Katzenknipp est un magnifique petit bijou dans le Nordeifel. La montée depuis Schevenhütte commence le long de la relativement tranquille Landesstraße 25 (qui est aussi la plus raide), quelques kilomètres plus loin, une route bien asphaltée se détourne à travers les forêts, interdite à la circulation automobile. Ainsi, vous pouvez grimper en toute tranquillité jusqu'au petit village de Großhau, avec parfois un magnifique panorama sur les environs.
