L’église protestante de l’île Maurice à Kernen im Remstal est située au centre du quartier de Rommelshausen. Il est situé à proximité immédiate de l’ancienne mairie et du presbytère.
Rommelskirchen était déjà une paroisse en 1275, et une église dédiée à Saint-Maurice est documentée dès 1408. Le chœur de la tour, la partie la plus ancienne de l’église actuelle, a été construit plus tôt, probablement au 14ème siècle. Avec la Réforme dans le duché de Wurtemberg en 1534, l’Église est devenue protestante.
