Bermeo est une commune de la comarque de Busturialdea en Biscaye dans la communauté autonome du Pays basque . Il s'agit de la localité la plus peuplée de la région du Urdaibai avec plus de 17 000 habitants. La ville a eu le titre de « Tête de Biscaye » de 1476 à 1602. Elle a été fondée en 1236.
