La bataille de Fuentes de Oñoro oppose le maréchal Masséna, duc de Rivoli et prince d'Essling, au lieutenant général Arthur Wellesley, vicomte Wellington, du 3 au 5 mai 1811 près de la frontière lusitano-espagnole. Elle est la première bataille de la guerre péninsulaire portugaise ayant lieu en territoire espagnol. Le mouvement de sortie des troupes anglo-portugaises permet à terme la jonction avec les troupes espagnoles en guerre contre Napoléon.
