L'Hôpital Général Universitaire d'Elda Virgen de la Salud se trouve sur la Route d'Elda à Saix s/n., situé sur les pentes de la Serra de la Torreta. Il dessert les régions de Vinalopó Mitjà, Alt Vinalopó et Foia de Castalla.
C'est l'un des hôpitaux de district promus par l'Insalud avant l'adoption de la Loi sur la Santé. Sa construction a commencé vers 1977. Il a été inauguré par l'alors Ministre de la Santé, Ernest Lluch Martín.
