Astegieta est un village ou contrée faisant partie de la municipalité de Vitoria-Gasteiz dans la province d'Alava dans la Communauté autonome basque.Aztegieta en basque et Asteguieta en espagnol diffèrent les deux de la version officielle.
Il se trouve à un nœud de communications entre la péninsule Ibérique et la France, a été un important point de passage vers Zuia par Arrato et à Kuartango par le passage de Hueto Arriba.
