Châtelus-Malvaleix est une commune française située dans le département de la Creuse en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.Au nord de la Creuse entre Bonnat et Boussac le village situé entre 400 et 450 mètres d'altitude s'attache aux collines de la Marche à quelques kilomètres au sud qui atteignent 573 mètres à l'antenne située au-dessus de roche. La population de Châtelus-Malvaleix était de 569 habitants en 1999, 558 habitants en 1990, 585 habitants en 1982, 641 habitants en 1975 et 710 habitants en 1968.
