La Palme est une commune française, située dans le sud-est du département de l'Aude en région Occitanie.Sur le plan historique et culturel, la commune fait partie du Narbonnais, un pays comprenant Narbonne et sa périphérie, le massif de la Clape et la bande lagunaire des étangs. Exposée à un climat méditerranéen, elle est drainée par le Rieu, le ruisseau de Picassou et par divers autres petits cours d'eau. Incluse dans le parc naturel régional de la Narbonnaise en Méditerranée, la commune possède un patrimoine naturel remarquable : trois sites Natura 2000 , trois espaces protégés et onze zones naturelles d'intérêt écologique, faunistique et floristique.
