Saint-Martin-du-Tertre est une commune française située dans le département du Val-d'Oise en région Île-de-France.
La commune se situe à flanc de coteau, sur une butte-témoin portant la forêt de Carnelle, dominant la plaine de France, à environ trente kilomètres au nord de Paris. Sa situation géographique à environ 185 mètres d'altitude moyenne et culminant à 210 mètres en fait l'une des communes les plus élevées d'Île-de-France. Elle porte le surnom de balcon de l'Île-de-France.
