Usson-en-Forez est une commune française située dans le département de la Loire, en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, et faisant partie de Loire Forez Agglomération.Comme son nom l'indique, Usson fait partie du Forez. La commune est 42 km au sud-ouest de sa sous-préfecture Montbrisonet 51 km à l'ouest de sa préfecture Saint-Étienne. Usson se trouve aux limites du Velay, du Forez et de l'Auvergne. Située sur un plateau montagneux, la commune bénéficie d'un micro-climat ensoleillé[réf. nécessaire]. Usson-en-Forez compte 55 hameaux.
