Les Drus constituent deux pics d'une montagne des Alpes de Haute-Savoie, situés dans le massif du Mont-Blanc.
Les noms des montagnes font partie des couches les plus anciennes des toponymes. La plupart du temps ils sont d'origine celte ou indo-européenne. Pour les Celtes, la totalité du monde était symboliquement représentée par un arbre. Dans la langue gauloise, le mot le plus courant pour désigner cet arbre est dru. Les druides étaient ceux qui avaient « la connaissance de l'arbre », .
