Durtal est construit autour du château, qui surplombe toute la région. Le château du 12e siècle est limité à la visite, mais l'office de tourisme en face peut vous proposer une promenade le long des jardins en terrasses et du lavoir au bord du Loir (à ne pas confondre avec la Loire) et à travers le vieux quartier de St. Leonard.
