Installé dans un hôtel particulier du XIXe siècle, le musée Alexandre Dumas retrace la vie et l'œuvre des trois Dumas : le général Thomas-Alexandre Dumas (1762-1806), son fils Alexandre Dumas père (1802-1870), l'illustre auteur des Trois Mousquetaires, né à Villers-Cotterêts, et Alexandre Dumas fils (1824-1895), auteur de La Dame aux camélias.
Le musée rassemble de nombreux documents originaux, lettres autographes, manuscrits, éditions originales et illustrées ainsi que des portraits peints, gravés et sculptés.
