L'église de San Vito doit son nom à l' ancien quartier de San Vito et à la rue où elle se trouve (via San Vituzzo).
Elle existait déjà en 1492 et, selon l'historien Ignazio de Blasi d'Alcamo, a été fondée par un membre de la Confrérie de l'Annunziata, avec à côté un hôpital pour les pauvres malades . Il a été restauré pour la première fois en 1922. Il n’y a rien d’ancien à l’intérieur et il est aujourd’hui utilisé par les chrétiens orthodoxes.
