La Alzette (luxembourgeois : Uelzecht ; L'Alzig est un fleuve en France et au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg. Il prend sa source en Lorraine dans la commune de Thil et traverse les communes françaises de Villerupt et Audun-le-Tiche.
Au Luxembourg, il irrigue les villes d'Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg et Mersch et se jette ensuite à Ettelbruck dans la Sauer.
Ses affluents au Luxembourg sont :
Rive droite : Kälbaach, Diddelengerbaach, Crauthemergruef, Huerbaach, Kasselterbaach, Rollengerbaach, Rouschtbaach, Schrondweilerbaach, Kalbaach, Kiselbaach et Ditgesbaach
rive gauche : Dipbech, Kleemelbaach, Mess, Mierbech, Bibbeschbaach, Doulemerbaach, Drosbech, Peitruss ou Pétrusse, Klengelbaach, Kaylbaach, Millebach, Mamer, Eisch, Wëllerbaach, Rouschtbach, Attert et Deiwelbaach.
