Le Monument Spencer est un monument obélisque restauré sur le chemin de La Valette, à Blata l-Bajda, Malte, érigé pour le Capitaine Sir Robert Cavendish Spencer, R.N., un cousin du Gouverneur de Malte,
Sir Frederick Cavendish Ponsonby.
Sir Robert Cavendish Spencer est né dans la maison familiale Spencer à Althorp, dans le Northamptonshire, fils du 2e comte Spencer et de Lavinia, comtesse Spencer. Il a été secrétaire particulier du roi Guillaume IV de 1827 à 1828, et Spencer a été fait chevalier pour ses services. Il a eu une carrière distinguée dans la Royal Navy et était très apprécié des hommes qu'il commandait.
