Exel est un village de la commune néerlandaise de Lochem. Exel se trouve à proximité de Lochem. Le village est composé de quatre rues : l'Oude Lochemseweg, l'Exelseweg, 't Veld et la Vossebosweg. Exel se compose d'un noyau de près de 55 maisons et 170 habitants, ainsi que d'un vaste espace extérieur. Historiquement, c'est une zone d'une longueur de 6,5 km et d'une largeur de 1,5 km, encadrée entre les domaines de Verwolde et Ampsen et limitrophe des forêts d'Ampsen.
