Le Plateau de Berg est l'un des récents nouveaux quartiers construits par la commune de Bergen op Zoom. Le quartier est situé au sud-ouest de la commune et est délimité par la Markiezaatsweg, la Laan van Reimerswaal ainsi que par la Binnenschelde et le Zoommeer.
Le Plateau doit son nom à une ancienne île de sable qui existait autrefois lorsque Bergen op Zoom était encore situé au bord de l'Oosterschelde et connaissait donc encore la marée. Dans la région, un certain nombre de villages étaient installés qui ont disparu à la suite de l'inondation de Saint-Félix en 1530 et ensuite. Les noms des villages engloutis se retrouvent dans un certain nombre de noms de rues sur le Plateau de Berg.
