Commandé par la Fondation Monument de Guerre Zuidzande, une initiative de Cornélie van de Reepe.
Inauguré le 5 novembre 2004 par J. Suurmond, député de la province de Zélande. Le monument a été adopté par l'école primaire publique du village, afin de maintenir vivante la mémoire de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
