Ce ancien monastère a été occupé en 1903 par des Trappistines françaises. Elles l'ont nommé Notre Dame du Perpetual Secours. En 1912, les sœurs sont reparties pour la France. Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, des novices des Pères des Saints Cœurs, ayant fui la Belgique, y ont résidé. Par la suite, le bâtiment est tombé entre les mains du fabricant Van den Bergh, qui lui a donné le nom de De Rendierhoeve. Peut-être parce que des rennes apparaissaient sur les étiquettes du matériel publicitaire pour ses couvertures AaBe.
