Le rectorat de l'Université du Minho est situé sur la place Largo Do Paço.
L'ancien palais de l'archevêché abrite le service. Il a été construit au XIVe siècle par l'archevêque D. Fernando Guerra et a été rénové aux XVIe et XVIIIe siècles. Le plafond à caissons de la salle de lecture mérite une mention spéciale, tout comme la fontaine de Castelos dans la cour.
Cet espace abrite la bibliothèque publique. Le plan est en forme de croix et le toit est en bâtière.
