La Nouvelle-Suède était une petite colonie suédoise située en Amérique du Nord, sur la côte atlantique, à l'embouchure du Delaware. Elle faisait partie de l'empire colonial suédois. Fondée en mars 1638, elle fut annexée par la Nouvelle-Néerlande en septembre 1655.
Elle était centrée sur Fort Christina, maintenant dans Wilmington, au Delaware et comprenait des territoires aujourd'hui dans les États du Delaware, du New Jersey et de la Pennsylvanie. À côté des Suédois, on trouvait de nombreux colons finnnois ou néerlandais.
