Juan Perez Delgado (NIJOTA) visse dal 1898 al 1973).
Opera commissionata dall'Orfeón La Paz de La Laguna allo scultore Francisco Borges Salas (1901-1994) come omaggio al giornalista e poeta lagunese.
È stato inaugurato il 9 novembre 1975 e si trova nella Plaza de La Concepción a San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
Juan Pérez Delgado è nato nel quartiere Concepción di La Laguna , "durante la guerra di Cuba". Ha studiato giurisprudenza, attività che non ha svolto professionalmente perché si è dedicato al giornalismo, anche come redattore del quotidiano La Prensa e caporedattore di El Día .
Coltivò con successo il teatro, la poesia e il racconto. La sua prima opera teatrale , Mariquilla, fu presentata per la prima volta nel 1927 e "El amor en bicicleta" l'anno successivo. I suoi versi umoristici furono ampiamente accolti dalla stampa e dal pubblico delle isole.
