Nel rifugio Falkenhütte, al cospetto delle imponenti pareti del Laliderer, si è forse sognato di ben altri tour in vetta, ma questa tappa ci porta inizialmente attraverso ameni pascoli. Dopo aver raggiunto la tranquilla malga Ladizalm si attraversa un bosco rado lungo una mulattiera fino a raggiungere il Kleiner Ahornboden, il piccolo bosco di aceri, che, nonostante il nome, è altrettanto suggestivo quanto il fratello maggiore. Poi, per accontentare la sete di alpinismo, ci incamminiamo con passo vigoroso in salita. In direzione nord-ovest si raggiunge la valle Untere Filztal, da dove ci separano ancora 400 metri di dislivello molto panoramici dal rifugio Karwendelhaus.
