Il richiamo della montagna torna già a farsi sentire e una tappa leggera è l'ideale dopo l'arrivo in città della tappa precedente. Le gambe hanno ancora po' di tempo per riprendersi, visto che il punto di partenza di oggi è raggiungibile in bus o tram fino a Igls e poi in cabinovia fino alla stazione d'arrivo del Patscherkofel. Il Sentiero tra i pini cembri si snoda verso est con un tracciato ampio senza passaggi ripidi, tranne la leggera salita che porta al rifugio Boschebenhütte. Da qui si può decidere se scendere nella valle Viggartal arrivando al rifugio Meißnerhaus oppure dirigersi alla malga Tulfeinalm e scendere con la seggiovia Glungezerbahn fino a Tulfes, per poi rientrare a Igls e Innsbruck. Da Tulfes, tuttavia, vale la pena di raggiungere Hall in Tirol e dedicare una visita a questo incantevole borgo storico.
