Ogni domenica dopo Pentecoste, a Ronse si svolge la Fiertel in onore di Sant'Ermete. Il nome "Fiertel" deriva da Feretrum che significa reliquiario. In questo percorso di 33 km le reliquie di Sant'Ermete vengono portate in giro. Questo Santo è venerato contro il mal di testa, la nevrastenia, la furia e l'epilessia.
L'abbazia di Ronse ricevette già nel 860 le reliquie di questo Santo romano. Durante un'invasione dei Normanni nel 880, queste reliquie poterono essere salvate facendole svanire dall'abbazia.
