Il Dominio Provinciale di Bokrijk è un'area di 550 ettari, situata nel comune belga di Genk. È principalmente conosciuto per il suo museo all'aperto, l'arboreto e il parco gioco all'aperto. L'area è protetta a livello europeo come zona Natura 2000. Il conte Arnold IV di Loon e Chiny vendette il 9 marzo 1252 una foresta situata tra Genk, Zonhoven e Hasselt all'abbazia delle donne di Herkenrode a Kuringen vicino a Hasselt. Questa foresta è chiamata Buscurake o Buksenrake, un toponimo che successivamente si è evoluto in 'Bouchreyck' e poi in Bokrijk. Le suore cistercensi di Herkenrode costruirono una fattoria abbaziale, scavarono laghetti e piantarono alberi. L'abbazia affittava i suoi grani a 'mezzo vincitori', cioè affittuari che lavoravano per metà del guadagno. Inizialmente, il dominio faceva parte del territorio di Hasselt, ma dopo un litigio tra Hasselt e Herkenrode passò in possesso di Genk.
