Dai dati di Statbel (2024) risulta che i redditi più elevati del Belgio non si trovano a Sint-Martens-Latem o De Pinte, ma in questo comune vallone con appena 6.000 abitanti. E questo ha tutto a che fare con la posizione, ovvero la vicinanza al Granducato di Lussemburgo. Molti abitanti della zona di confine lavorano in Lussemburgo e guadagnano lì sostanzialmente di più. Pagano anche meno tasse.
