Il progetto di ristrutturazione delle terre di Sint-Lievens-Houtem è stato realizzato nel periodo 2007-2015. Oltre 55 km di strade sono state rese più accessibili, costruite o ricostruite. Le strade che prima finivano in un cul-de-sac sono state collegate tra loro. Il comune dispone ora di circa 110 km di strade secondarie. Il comune di Sint-Lievens-Houtem ha colto queste nuove opportunità con entrambe le mani per sviluppare nuovi percorsi ricreativi. Questo è avvenuto in collaborazione con la Vlaamse Landmaatschappij, l'amministrazione provinciale di East Flanders e Bloso.
